The problem is that with Congress at loggerheads again about fiscal policies, tax advisers are not even trying to guess what will happen in the next year or so about matters like the estate tax and the expiring Bush-era tax cuts.
Their only advice is to get your financial affairs in order — and that applies not only to the wealthy but also to middle-class taxpayers.
