“A large part of the forum is dedicated to the future of the tax administration in the context of the application of modern technologies,” Mishustin said on Wednesday, as cited by RIA Novosti.
The head of the Federal Tax Agency noted Russia’s “considerable progress” in employing IT technology for tax administration in recent years.
“Our agency systematically introduces the most advanced technology, which allows us to operate more efficiently,” he said, adding that Russia has become an example for many countries in this field.
The heads of tax agencies from 46 countries – including Australia, the UK, Canada, China, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, the US, Russia, France, South Africa and Japan – have arrived in the Chinese capital for the forum.
The event runs from May 11 to 13, and participants will discuss ways “to make better use of data and analytics as well as in the application of e-services and digital solutions,” according to the forum’s website.

The agenda includes issues such as implementation of the Action Plan on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) to combat the erosion of the tax base and withdrawal of income from taxation, as well as the development of collective work to address cross-border tax evasion.
